No, what I actually did was just set the date of this entry to ten years forwards, so it'll stick at the top of my livejournal, serving as the introduction to each and every visitor.

This entry will get edited every time I make a major update, whether adding new fics or chapters, but that's fairly obvious I think. Bah, whatever, on to the point!

I thought it was about time to post here again, though I didn't realise it had been quite so long since my last update!

Anyway, a progress update I guess. And my sum of progress is... fuck all. Since the last update, I've got about 1k words in the next TCoS chapter, started a Ranma 1/2 fic which is a few chaps in, started planning a series of BtVS fics, including a Veronica Mars crossover, started a CSI/Womens Murder Club crossover, started a second Kaleido Star ficlet as a sequel to Sunshine of Your Love (and thought about adding some more to the series, calling it Arrhythmia) and haven't done much in the way of actually finishing anything.

The worst thing though, I think, is the overbearing malaise I have towards writing over the last year+. I WANT to write, I just can't seem to bring myself to enjoy it, so I end up procrastinating, and it only gets worse and worse as each day goes by. I miss the days when I'd write every night, even when sometimes I had to slog through parts just to get it done, because I knew in the end that it'd be worth it. I used to actually have drive to get chapters done!

I'm considering concentrating on the BtVS/VM crossover, since the format for it allows me to be somewhat lazy in fleshing out the chapters, being that it's during the actual Veronica Mars series, but I do need to put in some serious time planning just how I'm going to screw with stuff, or else I'll just end up writing myself into a hole, and wind up getting clubbed over the head by bad plot lines. Shame I've never liked planning stuff out...

The other fic I'd really like to work on is the CSI/WMC one, of which nearly 7k words have been done for already. Shame I haven't touched it in months, for no good reason at all. I wrote all of that in one sitting, and then didn't look back at it. I just haven't tried to do more for it, though again, it's one I haven't plotted out at all. However, with that fic, I do have completely free reign in what I do, since every character in it has been cut off from TV land, so theoretically, nothing will get in my way.

Anyway, I think that's about enough whining from me today. See you in another year!

Well holy crap. I won both first place in Best of Fandom and the Member's Choice award for Sunshine of Your Love, and I'm now through to the Best Overall round. I'm just utterly surprised that people actually like my writing enough to go out and vote for it, which in turn makes me feel a bit guilty, considering how long it's been since I've actually posted anything online. Whoops. Anyway, shiny awards badges after the cut!

This is possibly the thing I hate most about writing fanfiction. That period between posting it online and when you reach the saturation point of basking in the adoration (hah) of fans, and feel like you should do some more work. I keep checking my gmail account for FF.net reviews (4 reviews, 2 Favourite Stories and 1 Story Alert so far) and LJ replies, and also refreshing the shoujoai.com forums (0 ;_;), with intermittent checks of my deviantArt account.

Looking at some writers though, they just write straight away. I know I used to do that, back when I actually updated frequently. I guess I just need to sit down and just write, getting away from this big ol' desktop and working on my laptop like I used to, like I forced myself to do for the most recent chapter of Tea Cosy.

Oh, and some weird person keeps messaging me on AIM. No idea what that's all about.

Been reading more Xena Ubers lately, over at The Academy of Bards, which is always a bad thing, since I just get more and more story ideas, that will never see the light of day.

I'm not really sure, but I think my new host can actually use php properly, so I might try to do some kind of cool stuff with my site, adding guest comments to various fics and reviews, and multiple layouts, kind of thing. Not that I know php; my html is barely servicable, spatvark's original code is what I've been working from for the basic site.

That's enough procrastination for one entry. Now to slack off some more by watching Smackdown. Wrestlemania in two days!

So, apparently I was nominated for an award in the Universal Fanfiction Open Awards over at .moon. Never actually been anywhere near the place, but cool nevertheless. Not that anyone reads this but it's pretty darn cool. Apparently voting also starts soon, so any votes would be much appreciated. If I win, I might even write another KS oneshot :D?

In other news, I had two more goddamn story ideas, this time one an original, and another an AU CSI fic. I hate that my mind is so fertile for coming up with stories, but not so much when it comes to actually writing them. I'd write so much stuff otherwise ;_;

Just thought I'd throw in a progress update. And I have made progress... in rewatching all of CSI. I'm about a third of the way through season 5 (ah, Louise Lombard, terrible at maintaining her American accent, but damn if I don't care). I'm actually somewhat considering writing a CSI fic, but I'm still too swamped with stuff I need to get done already. I'm also running out of hard drive space; I grabbed season 1 of Xena but haven't gotten around to rewatching it, and with the bunch of old Lucasarts games I downloaded as well, it's getting mighty packed these days. (And why on earth am I coming up with stories set in Marvel's Ultimate universe? Stupid Spider-Woman & Carnage fic.)

I have actually started work on the next chapter of Tea Cosy, but smut is always slow going. I ground out about 500 words earlier today, so I'm maybe a fifth/sixth of the way through the chapter. I think one of my problems is that I keep forcing myself to write smut in first-person, when third is easier. I had intended to write Tea Cosy and White Demon chapter alternately, but I've decided to put the emphasis on getting through to the end of Tea Cosy first.

deviantArt is irritating the hell out of me, with its new Gallery system. You can set up folders within it, which is cool and all, and you can then give each folder a blurb and icon/image. Except the icon/image just will not work for me at all. Talking to one of the staff about it (when I remember to check deviantArt), so hopefully that'll get sorted out. (EDIT: Seems to have been resolved in the time I spent idling before publishing this entry.)

So yeah, I'm still alive. And doing some stuff. Yeah.
